Vitae Care News

November 2017

Dear {tag_recipientname},

The entire month of November is dedicated to family caregivers, to whom we express our gratitude for providing compassionate care that enhances the lives of their parents, family members, and friends.

Paul Ostermann is a professor of human resources and management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Management. In his new book Who Will Care for Us: Long-term Care and Long-term Workforce, he examines the unpaid family members and friends who are the most common source of care for many people.

Respite care is our core competence. Our excellent, caring companions are ready to step in for you. Vitae Care advocates for five principles:

- Increase and maintain independence
- Encourage continuity and structure
- Allow care with dignity and respect
- Get companionship with caregivers
- Allow respite care for families

Take care of yourself this holiday season, and make it a priority to sparkle the spirit to everyone in the world around you. Thank you for your interest in our monthly news.

Stay happy and healthy,

Disability Care—Older Adults Are Significantly More Likely to Have a Disability

While disabilities affect a significant portion of our population; there is support. In-home care agencies like Vitae Care provide support and assistance if family caregivers are not around. For obvious reasons, many disabled individuals, of all ages, want to stay in the home and maintain their private, independent life. However, family caregivers may not be able to provide the necessary services because of their own family, careers, vacation, exhaustion, or even their health.

Elderly Companion Care Assists People Enjoy the Fall Season

With a friendly, caring staff, Vitae Care provides a high level of support during every period of the year, including the beautiful autumn months. We understand the importance of activity and social interaction and will provide companionship that maintains a higher quality of life. While there are many specific services that we can provide during the fall, activities can essentially include anything the elderly would like to do, from enjoying a card game to taking a walk outside.

“I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.”

Vitae Care’s Movement—The Aging Community is Setting New Trends

At Vitae Care we are prepared to be part of the new movement by improving and supporting the trend to a redefined lifestyle of the new generation elderly. It creates a new world of new opportunities for the aging community and is creating a higher demand of premier home care services. Remaining and aging in the own home is still the preferred style of senior living. Home care agencies as Vitae Care are ready to provide solutions to enable the elderly to enjoy home with the care and support they will need.

Defined by the World Health Organization in 1990, palliative care seeks to address not only physical pain, but also an emotional, social, and spiritual pain to achieve the best possible quality of life for patients and their families. Palliative care extends the principles of hospice care to a broader population that could benefit from receiving this type of care earlier in their illness or disease process.
